Sunrise at Jennette's Pier - Nags Head

Crabbing - Sound Side
Take the kids for an afternoon of crabbing. You only need a few items to get you started! Check a local tackle shop for more info, including tides & bait recommendations. TW's Bait & Tackle (located in Kitty Hawk) are knowledgeable and helpful.
Light House Tours
North Carolina has many historic light houses to discover - we still haven't been to all of them. That is the joy of going back! Always more to see!
Currituck Beach Light Station from NC 158 at Kitty Hawk by taking NC 12 north
Bodie Island Light Station. From Currituck Beach Light Station, the drive to Bodie Island. Retrace NC 12 south to Kitty Hawk and turn left onto NC 158 south, a.k.a. the "bypass" at Milepost 1 in Kitty Hawk. NC 12
Nags Head Pier & Restaurant - Nags Head
Stop by the pier house restaurant any time of the day and enjoy a delicious menu, from Carolina fresh seafood. Or, you catch it they'll cook it! Let them cook your catch of the day just the way you like it. No other restaurant you can dine at gets this close to the splashing waves. After a bite, enjoy a stroll on the pier free (when you have a meal), catch a sunset or see what locals are pullin in. Can't get to the pier soon enough? Island Dyes - Kill Devil Hills
Where you can buy or make your own tye-dye. For for rainy days at the beach, pick you own colors and style a create shirt with vivid colors. Great gifts or souvenirs!
Bird Watching
North Carolina has a wide species of coastal birds. Either your love for coastal birds is strong or you just enjoy birds watching by the beach. Keep your eyes & camera ready to see some beautiful species!
Jolly Roger - Kill Devil Hills
A fun, relaxed family restaurant that will keep your kids entertained while you dine on fresh caught local seafood...ARrrrrr!
Photo Shoot
You're at the beach - capture it! Remembering great family memories & fun in the sun is what it's all about! Take your family or friends out early during sunrise or twilight when the lighting is perfect. Coordinating outfits and props to document your trip is a cute way to highlight your family. Also makes great Christmas cards!
Manteo Boat House & Marina
The lighthouse is on the Manteo waterfront, on the east side of Roanoke Island. The Marina is quaint and has little shops all around. After you hit the beach, Manteo is a quiet break from the busy beach shops & crowds.
Off Road Beach Access
Have 4WD? Drop your tire pressure & experience an adventure! You can drive your off-road vehicle along many miles of accessible beach as you search for that perfect fishing spot or explore beaches, all while your beach gear is in tow! Have the convenience & freedom of the all in one feel. Pack a lunch with a cooler and fuel up! Be sure to check the local beach rules and regulations before heading out as access may change per season's or during certain weather conditions.
Tortugas Lie - Nags Head
Shellfish bar and grill with a Caribbean style even the local's love! Their menu is fresh with daily specials, my favorite is the Coco Loco chicken! Wait times may be crazy but if you go after lunch and before dinner with kids request a table by one of there vivid salt water tanks and bring your appetite to sample crunchy conch fritters and pacific meets NC fusion lunch or dinner!
North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island
Experience the largest collection of sharks in the state. Interact with scuba divers & explore the “Waters of the Outer Banks.”The Aquarium includes indoor and outdoor exhibits for your kids to view and interact with.
